Do chinese apps steal data | Realty of chinese apps

In this article, I would like to share very serious information about Chinese apps. Many famous apps and smartphone brands are involved in data leaks and these apps originate from China. Not all Chinese brands do this but I would like to share some information about the apps that do this. Data leaks are one common issue found with Chinese brands.

Recently the US has banned the Huawei brand as it was suspected to leak data of its users to china. But it is not yet proved. The same kind of issue is found with Mi phones. Very recently a user had blamed that Mi had recorded his data when he was using incognito mode. Later Xiaomi accepted it. Then there was an update by Xiaomi stating that it wouldn't record user's data in incognito mode. You can check the image below for more details.

Do chinese apps steal data from users

Many apps of Cheeta mobile was removed from Playstore by google for the ad frauds. This company is known for data leaks and misuse. Even if you download a simple flashlight application by cheetah mobile will ask permission for storage, camera, etc which are not needed by the application. And if you have ever used the UC browser you would have observed it asks permission for everything on your phone, it even asks permission to read text messages. Imagine the security of the OTPs that arrive at your phone having this installed.

These kinds of issues are common when we use Chinese apps. People across the globe have understood this and now they are boycotting Chinese goods. This is the best solution, this cannot happen immediately because most of our phone's hardware is manufactured there but yes over time it is possible. However, we have software in our hands which we can remove immediately. Intel agencies have released a list of 52 apps that are not safe. I Recommend you immediately uninstall them and alternatives of those apps, nothing is important than privacy and security so please uninstall those apps. It is expected that very soon the Indian government will ban these applications in India.

The list of 52 apps released by intel agencies:-

TikTok, Zoom, Vault-Hide, Vigo Video, Bigo Live, Weibo, WeChat, SHAREit, UC News, UC Browser, BeautyPlus, Xender, ClubFactory, Helo, LIKE, Kwai, ROMWE, SHEIN, NewsDog, Photo Wonder, APUS Browser, VivaVideo- QU Video Inc, Perfect Corp, CM Browser, Virus Cleaner (Hi Security Lab), Mi Community, DU recorder, YouCam Makeup, Mi Store, 360 Security, DU Battery Saver, DU Browser, DU Cleaner, DU Privacy, Clean Master – Cheetah, CacheClear DU apps studio, Baidu Translate, Baidu Map, Wonder Camera, ES File Explorer, QQ International, QQ Launcher, QQ Security Centre, QQ Player, QQ Music, QQ Mail, QQ NewsFeed, WeSync, SelfieCity, Clash of Kings, Mail Master, Mi Video call-Xiaomi, and Parallel Space.

Moreover, our youth is wasting on apps like Tiktok, Vigo video, etc so they should definitely be uninstalled. And some of the apps were four to transfer data without encryption.  For the people who don't know what is encryption, let me tell you  Encryption is a process that encodes a message or file so that it can be only be read by certain people. Encryption uses an algorithm to scramble, or encrypt data, and then uses a key for the receiving party to unscramble, or decrypt, the information. And if data is not encrypted while transferring it elsewhere it can be accessed by any person.

How to know if apps steal data?

It is quite simple to know or at least guess if apps are stealing data. If the apps ask too many permissions than required which means something is fishy. For instance, you download a file manager app and it asks permissions of your locations, camera, microphone, etc it is obvious it is taking data from us. You can simply block permission which you feel is unnecessary for the app or you can simply uninstall it.

Frankly speaking yes Chinese apps steal data from our phones. You might think even google uses our data, but google asks our permission before using our data. In the case of Chinese apps, it steals data. Definitely, there is a difference between using our data and stealing. And just not stealing our data is mostly misused also. Therefore stay away from such apps.
